Who we supervise

Authorised Market Institutions (AMIs)

An Authorised Market Institution (AMI) is an exchange or a clearing house in the DIFC that is licensed and regulated by the DFSA.

AMIs who carry on Financial Services in or from the DIFC must be authorised and licensed by the DFSA.

An Authorised Market Institution must have adequate arrangements both at the time a License is granted and at all times after being licensed to meet the applicable Licensing Requirements set out in the AMI rulebook.

  AMI activities

Under Rule 2.2.11 of the DFSA General (GEN) module, an AMI may carry on any one or more of the following Financial Services:

a)     Operating an Exchange;

b)     Operating a Clearing House; or

c)     Operating a Multilateral Trading Facility.
